Overview
M.E.M Works, a metal engineering and manufacturing company and was founded as a Close Corporation in November 1995 by Mr. M.J. Nel and Mr. H.S. Nel. The Corporation converted to a Proprietary Limited company in 2004.
M.E.M. Works is currently housed in Alrode South, Gauteng on a 3 000 square metre stand with 1 500 square metres under roof. M.E.M. Works is totally self sufficient and is ideally situated and easily accessible to Customers and Suppliers.

M.E.M. Works’ team is committed to the creation of a safe working environment and to improving the environment by minimizing its carbon footprint and in this regard we are currently working towards ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certification.
Quality
M.E.M. Works is dedicated to continual improvement of the quality of products and quality management systems, and currently runs an ISO 9001:2015 accredited management system by TUV Rheinland.
The Organisation
The organisation has rapidly expanded into a recognized contender in the supply and manufacture of specialized fastening equipment as well as tool and dies for the extrusion industry. M.E.M Works also offers standard fasteners and industrial supplies to various industries, we are dedicated to providing outstanding quality and on time delivery. M.E.M. Works forms long term partnerships with all its clients which is reflected in their commitment to Kanban/Lean Manufacturing Principles and best practice systems.
Our Workshops
M.E.M. Works currently employs 33 dedicated and committed staff members, to operate the range of equipment throughout the workshop and plating facilities. The workshop consists of CNC turning centres, machining centre, an internal and external precision grinding plant and multiple conventional machinery for milling, turning, drilling and cutting. The electroplating department is also housed within the manufacturing workshop. This facility consists of a hard chrome plating and zinc galvanizing plant, it also houses a furnace for the de-embrittlement processing on all high tensile products.
Our Process
On receipt of orders, job cards/picking slips are created in accordance to customer and job specifications. These documents offer full traceability throughout the manufacturing process. When necessary, for kitting purposes, assembly cards as well as bin tags are allocated for all accessories. In process QC is done throughout the manufacturing of all products from preparation through to final bagging and kitting.

M.E.M. WORKS has an extensive range of LDV’s servicing the greater Gauteng Region with daily deliveries.
